Home Care Instructions

Your tooth and surrounding gum tissue may be slightly tender for a few days following treatment.  This tenderness is normal and is no cause for alarm.Discomfort may be alleviated by taking ibuprofen (Nurofen) or paracetamol (Panadol) as directed. It is advisable to avoid chewing on the tooth receiving treatment for a few days which will allow the tooth to settle.  You may continue your regular dental hygiene regimen.

NOTE: Alcohol intake is not advised while taking any of these medications. Should you experience discomfort that cannot be controlled with the above listed medications, or if localised swelling develops, please contact the practice immediately.

The practice telephone is answered during business hours; Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm.  A short, detailed message may be left on the answering machine outside of office hours.  Our helpful administration team will return your call the following business day.

For out of hours emergencies, please contact the Australian Dental Association SA Branch on 8272 8111.
