This tenderness is normal and is no cause for alarm.Discomfort may be alleviated by taking ibuprofen (Nurofen) or paracetamol (Panadol) as directed. It is advisable to avoid chewing on the tooth receiving treatment for a few days which will allow the tooth to settle. You may continue your regular dental hygiene regimen.
NOTE: Alcohol intake is not advised while taking any of these medications. Should you experience discomfort that cannot be controlled with the above listed medications, or if localised swelling develops, please contact the practice immediately.
