After Completion of Endodontic Treatment
At the completion of endodontic treatment the root canal system is permanently sealed and the outer surface of the tooth is sealed with a temporary restoration. We will return you to the care of your general dentist and send them a detailed report including radiographs of your completed treatment. Please contact your dentist for an appointment for a long term restoration to be placed to protect your tooth against fracture and decay.
If your tooth’s strength is seriously compromised, your dentist may place a post inside the tooth and core build-up restoration in preparation for a crown at a later date. Your dentist and endodontist will determine the appropriate restoration to best protect your tooth.
A review appointment is scheduled with your Endodontist six months after treatment to check the healing of the tooth and surrounding tissues both clinically and radiographically.
